Falkland beat Mannofield by 205 runs

After a series of disappointing batting performances, Falkland returned to form in spectacular fashion in Aberdeen which set up a comfortable victory at Mannofield.

Winning the toss, Steven Meikle decided to have a bat on a dry pitch that has the reputation for playing a bit low. With Cameron Nellies injuring himself in the warm up, Euan Sloan and debutant Daniel Pearson walked out to open the innings. Despite Euan falling early, a brisk start was made with Graeme Watson coming out at 3. Young Daniel doesn't block many and he dealt well with 2 nasty beamers before falling just seven short of his half century with the score on 112. Graeme fell for 38, unlucky to be given LBW. Harsha top scored with 72 from 62 balls and Lyle made 57 from only 40 balls.

The standard of the opposition bowling wasn't great, (66 extras including 51 wides), but 316 runs still take a bit of scoring.

The home side's response never really got going with Ryan bowling his usual tight line and length, (and finishing with 3 for 24), and Euan Sloan supporting him well from the other end. After that, the young spin twins basically took over and this, combined with some excellent catches, (especially Cameron and Euan), ensured the victory would be comfortable.

Logan, (3 for 38), looked confident and extracted turn and bounce from the wicket and Lyle, (3 for 17), was accurate and very difficult to score from.

The eventual margin of victory did not flatter Falkland and, hopefully we will see more of this in the remainder of the season.
