The foxes were without the injured Craig Prendergast, Chris Asante, Kwaku Braams and Leon Worley but the starting 11 were unchanging for the first time this season. The game started brightly the Farleigh and they were ahead within minutes when a George Horsley crossfield pass was headed in by Dan Canning. In the second half Sheerwater got a surprise equaliser when a free deflected off the Farleigh wall to beat Oliver Waiton.
With no further goals, the game went into injury time and with Farleigh’s superior fitness levels starting to show they went back ahead when James Radford (pictured) turned in a Sam Blower cross. Two minutes later Sam Blowers struck the foxes 3rd after a thorough ball from Simon Mensah and a minute later it was Mensah again who was the provider sliding a through ball into the path of Galbraith Gorman who poked his effort past the keeper to put Farleigh out of sight. Sheerwater then got a dubious penalty but the effort was brilliantly saved by Waiton and in the second period Mensah produced the goal of the game when he picked the ball up from the halfway line and rounded two defenders before striking the ball past the keeper. Sheerwater got a late consolation and disappointingly Martin Dell got a second yellow for dissent just before the final whistle.
