The foxes were without the unavailable Leon Lee and Chas Davis while defenders Joseph Frimpong and James Radford were injured. Farleigh took the game to Warlingham from the start and opened the scoring within 20 minutes when a Shane Sinclair free kick flew in past the keeper into the top corner. Waves and waves of attacks from the foxes soon followed while Warlingham offered little apart from long balls into their two lively forwards.
With Farleigh in control of the match, the turning point came after 30 minutes when Warlingham forward Watford latched onto a ball that was clearly out of play, went a marauding run down the left and swung in a cross from the by-line that somehow evaded Oliver Waiton and landed into the Farleigh net. Minutes later and with Farleigh seemingly still in shock, Warlingham got a penalty when Watson was brought down by the otherwise excellent George Horsley. The same player placed the ball on the spot and placed into the bottom corner to give Wars a 2-1 lead.
The second half saw a resurgence in the foxes who were getting past the Warlingham backline at will but often lacked the killer pass or shot to capitalise. With 15 minutes remaining however, they got a lifeline when the rapid Michael Burton (pictured) was brought down in the box and sub Craig Prendergast made no mistake a slotted the ball home to bring the scores level again. In the dying minutes however, it was heartbreak for Farleigh when Giles latched onto a Watson centre to blast the ball home and give Wars the points.
Farleigh travel to Epsom Athletic next week Wednesday night hoping to get back to winning ways.
