Fawley RFC ended 2023 with their annual charity match.

This long standing event is now held in memory of former Fawley RFC 1st XV captain, Pete Legate who lost his life in 2002 climbing Everest while raising money for children’s charities.

This year, funds raised are being donated to support Luke Orton of Sandown and Shanklin RFC. The total of £1215.64 is being split between their fundraiser and Fawley RFC.
Luke is currently undergoing rehab at the Spinal Treatment Centre in Salisbury. He is looking forward to returning to his home this year and his parents are raising money to make the adaptations that are necessary to meet his needs.

We would like to thank all of those who made it possible, those who played and those who donated, you've all made it another successful event.

For the first time, the charity event kicked off with our new but rapidly growing girl's and women's teams – Fawley Flames vs Fawley Firecats playing Touch Rugby against each other in a closely fought match. This was followed by the Senior Men’s Legate v Leggett match, with players past and present lacing up their boots to run off some festive cheer.
Multi-generations of the same families were represented in both matches, playing together as well as supporting.

If you wish to donate to the Orton family’s JustGiving it is at
New players of all ages are always welcome at Fawley RFC, no experience needed. If you’d like to come along and give it a try, contact .
