Fawley hosted Portsmouth in an ill-tempered fixture that that saw one yellow card against Portsmouth for dissent and a good win for Fawley in what was a fierce and spirited match, in wet and blustery conditions. Fawley were first to score, with only a few minutes on the clock with Aaron Tonu running it across the line. Followed 10 minutes later by a further Fawley try by Christian Baker who ran half the pitch from a set piece to score. The try was converted by Christian who seemed to have the measure of the windy conditions with his right boot. Portsmouth reacted with 2 tries and 2 conversions to bring the score line in their favour heading into half time. After the restart Portsmouth scored another try but failed to convert, or capitilise on their position. This galvanised Fawley into action with another try from Aaron Tonu from a set piece straight from the training ground and spirited run through 5 Portsmouth players. His try was converted by Christian Baker. The game was finished off for Fawley by Harvey Wilkins who drove for the line after receiving the ball from a Fawley scrummage.
