Fútbol Club Británico has always been about more than just football. While the action on the pitch remains at the heart of what we do, our club is also proud to be part of a much wider and growing English-speaking sporting community in Madrid.
Over the past year, we’ve developed fantastic relationships with several other expat sports groups in the city — including the Sangria Shankers Golf Society, the Madrid Running Group, and the Madrid Padel Club. Together, these partnerships help bring people together from different sporting backgrounds, creating new friendships and opportunities both on and off the field.
The Sangria Shankers organise regular golf days across some of the best courses in and around Madrid, combining friendly competition with the usual good-natured banter. The Madrid Running Group offers an open and supportive environment for runners of all levels — whether training for a marathon or just enjoying a social jog through the Retiro. Meanwhile, the Madrid Padel Club continues to grow rapidly, hosting weekly matches and social events for players of all abilities.
Through these collaborations, members of each group are encouraged to support one another — whether by joining a golf day, signing up for a padel evening, or coming along to an FCB quiz night or matchday social. It’s all part of a shared goal: to strengthen the network of English-speaking sport lovers living in Madrid and make it easy for newcomers to find their community.
If you’re new to Madrid and looking for a way to stay active, meet people, and enjoy a great social atmosphere, we’d love to welcome you. Whether your sport is football, golf, running, or padel — there’s a place for you in this growing community.
Get involved. Stay active. Be part of it.
