Early intensity sets the tone in Británico victory

FÚTBOL CLUB BRITÁNICO20 Jan - 20:44

An aggressive start and a clinical first half laid the foundations for FC Británico’s 4–2 home win over Escuela Fútbol Madrid Sur. Four goals before the break put the hosts firmly in control, allowing them to see out the contest with confidence.

FC Británico continued their strong start to 2026 with an impressive 4–2 home win over Escuela Fútbol Madrid Sur, producing a sharp, front-foot first-half display that ultimately proved decisive.

The hosts set the tone early and were ahead inside three minutes. A well-coordinated high press forced a turnover deep in the opposition half, allowing Jeremy Halfon to react quickest and apply a calm close-range finish to make it 1–0.

Británico maintained control and doubled their advantage on 18 minutes. A loose, bobbling ball fell kindly to Oscar Walet just inside the box, and he showed great technique and conviction to drive a bullet finish past the goalkeeper for his second goal of the season.

Madrid Sur briefly threatened a response midway through the half, pulling a goal back on 25 minutes after a turnover led to a well-timed through ball, which José Manuel Tamayo Rodriguez finished confidently to reduce the deficit to 2–1.

Any momentum was quickly halted, however, as Británico restored their two-goal cushion six minutes later. Rasmus Raahauge’s long-throw routine again caused problems, with Calum Cant rising highest to power a direct header into the net and make it 3–1.

Just before the break, Británico struck again. Adam Bolton showed strength and composure to win a penalty in the box before stepping up himself to convert from the spot, extending the lead to 4–1. A second penalty at the other end, converted by Enrique Chico Calero in first-half stoppage time, brought the score to 4–2, but it proved only a consolation.

The second half saw Británico manage the game intelligently, limiting clear chances and seeing out the result with maturity and control to secure three valuable points.

Man of the Match went to Oscar Walet, whose goal, energy and all-round influence set the tempo for a dominant first-half performance.

A strong attacking display, combined with a ruthless spell before the interval, ensured FC Británico collected a deserved win and continued their push up the table.
