Credit most go to both teams who made the game interesting even tho both teams had nothing to play for. Hamlets took the lead when John Gilroy's strike found the far corner. Herongate responded 5 minutes later when a powerful strike went on off the crossbar from just outside the box. 10 minutes later another strike proved to hit to handle when Hamlets restored their lead through John Gilroy. Gilroy then rounded off his hat trick when another effort found the bottom far corner.

Hamlets were in control of the game however Herongate brought themselves back into it when a reaction save found its way to the Herongate Skipper who calmly finished. As has been the story of Hamlets season, Hamlets found themselves pegged back when a smart shot from just inside the box riquoched in off the far post. The game then looked like it was going to finish 3-3 when in the last 30 seconds of the game, a smart run forward from season ever present Aaron Glasgow saw him beat 5 players and slot home from 10 yards out.

Hamlets will be happy with promotion but will inevitably look back at needless dropped points throughout the season. A combination of sloppy play at the back and missed guilt edged chances has cost Hamlets 6/7 points throughout.
