It was the second 2-2 draw in a row for the Colts this week showing great character to come back from two goals down.
The Colts started the game really well but, despite putting their opposition under lots of pressure the Colts went a goal down after Reuben looked to have done enough by blocking a shot but the ball unfortunately bounced into the goal. The Colts went a further goal down when, after failing to clear the ball, their opponents scored a good goal. The Colts carried on working hard and appeared to have the ball in the back of the net but the referee judged that the whole of the ball did not cross the line meaning that the Colts went into half-time 2-0 down.
The Colts started the 2nd half brightly and their pressure paid off when Rhylee scored with a low drive after a good move. There were chances at both ends during the 2nd half with some good defending and Arman making a particularly important clearance. The Colts once more appeared to have the ball in the back of the net but again the referee ruled that it wasn’t a goal. The Colts dug in and after a series of attacks with only a couple of minutes left Ollie received the ball, beat two players and unleashed a great strike giving the keeper no chance to make the final score 2-2.
The Colts thoroughly deserved at least a draw from this match by working hard and never giving up.
