The Colts finish 3rd in the Winter Trophy

FC Premier Colts good run of 2017 continued with a 6-0 victory on an early morning kick off at Kings Hill.

After a scrappy start the Colts took the lead when Ollie scored with a powerful shot that the keeper could not keep out despite getting his hands to it. The first half continued with lots of pressure from FC Premier but the opposition goalkeeper made save after save to deny the boys the chance to extend their lead. Despite all the pressure the Colts could have gone into half time on equal terms if it wasn’t for Seb coming off his line quickly to claim the ball just in time.

Half Time 1-0

The Colts continued the pressure in the 2nd half with Rhylee, Luke, Ollie, Matty and Max all going close with shots either being saved, going just wide or over the bar. Seb then made a good save before Rhylee got the elusive second goal after he had intercepted the ball direct from a goal kick to make it 2-0. With the ball then down the Colts end of the pitch Manraj made a great shoulder to shoulder tackle to deny a one on one opportunity. The Colts then went straight down the other end with Max scoring a good goal high into the roof of the net to make it 3-0. Max then hit the post before getting his second and the Colts fourth goal following a pass from Luke to make it 4-0. A great solo goal from Ollie made it 5-0, beating a number of players before swivelling on the turn with a hard strike giving the opposition keeper no chance. The Colts then had to do some defending with Marley, Manraj and Sami making good tackles and clearances. The dubious goals panel are still to make a decision on the Colts 6th goal – a corner from Max appeared to go over the line via the opposition goalkeeper before a defender then kicked it into the roof of the net while it was already over the line. There was still time for Ollie to hit the crossbar and Seb to make a brave save at the feet of an opposition attacker before the Colts were awarded a penalty towards the end of the game. Seb was nominated to take it so he made the long jog from his goal to the penalty spot but unfortunately his well struck penalty hit the post.

Full Time 6-0
