Wokingham Away

Wokingham & Emmbrook FC 0 - 2 FHFC

Two first half goals from Callum Bunting and captain Jamie Essex ensure all three points come home with the Heathens this evening.

The game itself was keenly contested by both teams although a well kept but dry pitch meant it was difficult to get the ball down and play.

Bunting struck on 32 minutes when Duarte Surpanu forced his way through the middle and laid the ball through. Bunting made no mistake finishing first time to give us the lead.

Chances for both teams came and went but it was the Reds who doubled the lead on 43 minutes through captain Jamie Essex.
Moments earlier Essex failed to convert a free shot on goal after losing his marker and finding space at the back post.
He made up for it though when he connected with a perfect Charlie Lassoso corner, his header leaving the keeper no chance and giving us a 0-2 lead at half time.

The second half was relatively even with both teams having some good chances.

Charlie Lassoso coming the closest when a clever turn in the 59th minute gave him the time to set himself and thunder one off the crossbar.

Some rugged defending ensured that the 3 points were safe.

Thanks to Wokingham & Emmbrook FC for a very warm welcome and great hospitality, we really look forward to welcoming you to Wilks Park for the return fixture.

The result sweeps away the disappointment of Saturdays FA Cup defeat and gives us an encouraging boost going in to this Saturdays FA Vase against Risborough Rangers FC.
