The Heathens were back in action with a second game in 3 days, this time Hilltop FC visited Wilks Park for a Combined Counties Premier North Fixture.

A shuffling of the pack was required by the home team to rest some legs and get some game time in to others.
James Keeley returned from injury at left back, Cory Hathaway makes his first start along with Jamie Ayres in the middle.
Jack Shakespeare, Matty Ayres and Phil Pryor made way from Saturdays starting lineup who dispatched Risborough Rangers in some style on Saturday in the FA Vase.

Hilltop FC always prove to be tricky customers and a heavy possession game in their favour was the order of the day.
However when the Heathens did have the ball they looked assured and confident, building phases of play with slick passing which ended with some clinical finishing.

The opening goal came in the 15th minute with Odumosu driving down the right hand side, his low cross was met by a sliding in Marcus Mealing who made a good connection with a side footed shot in to the back of the net.

Just before half time it was Jethro Odumosu’s turn to showcase his finishing skills.
A Hilltop FC attack was broken down with Jamie Ayres picking the ball up, a long diagonal pass found Odumosu speeding through the middle.
A beautiful touch with the outside of the foot allowed the forward to continue his stride unbroken, with the keeper to beat he guided the ball inside the right hand side post to double the lead going in to the break.

Half Time
Flackwell Heath FC 2 - 0 Hilltop FC

The second half continued in much the same way, Hilltop FC had good spells of possession but with no killer instinct up top the Reds defence was never really troubled.

In the 64th minute Odumosu made way for Abdellah El Jalaoui and it wasn’t long before the Super Sub made his impact.
A pinpoint diagonal pass from Harry Mepham found El Jalaoui who brought the ball down and drove in to the box. Surrounded by two defenders snapping and kicking at him he somehow managed to steer a right foot shot low in to the bottom corner.

Game over, job done and three points in the bag against a side that will cause lots of teams problems this season.
A fantastic end to the bank holiday weekend which sets the Heathens up perfectly for the huge FA Cup fixture that awaits this coming Saturday.
