Scope On Tour 2019

Fleetwood 2s Play Their Last Away Game Of The Season
Fleetwood traveled to Leigh for their annual end of season away day fun day. Unfortunately the second string left Melbourne Avenue with a mix bag of a squad after various let downs throughout the week.
Leigh started strongly and scored almost from the kick off, which would be a running theme as inexperienced lads missed their tackles or were a little naive at the breakdown.
Highlights from the first half was George Bridge catching an over throw from a line out, running ten metres, but landing the wrong side up, narrowly avoiding his first ever try. Leading to George shouting "Should have rolled the other way". Jonny Bridges came close, but despite his pleas he did knock on the ball before placing it over the line. Steve Buzza and Reece Heer did manage to get over the white to score though.
The second half was more of the same for Leigh as they continued to pile on the points. Fortunately, Fleetwood did receive some respite from the onslaught when two home players ended up in the bin. This led to Sean Kirkbride scoring his first try for the second team.
Full Time: 82 v 15
This was a tough and very physical game for a lot of the lads who traveled, but all who turned up gave good accounts of themselves and enjoyed the usual post match antics.
Tries: Buzza; Heer; Kirkbride.
Man of the Match
The award goes to Joe Crompton this week. Joe played in both the backs and forwards and looked good in both.
The Weekly Sam Pook Report
This week Sam was hiding in Barcelona, pretending to be at work. Poor show Samuel. Line outs still need work.
