Fleetwood just lose by 1 in the last second of the game

Fylde turned up in force and with two U9s teams. Their tackle bags out and drills being practised until the start whistle was blown, our 10 strong team stood tall, even though maybe a little apprehensive at the sheer presence of the Fylde numbers.

A prematch team talk from coach Pete reminded our players not to forget to step over the ball, to protect our possession and to push towards their line and take the game to them, we were ready to get physical.

The game kicked off and was going to be lively and the supporters were not let down - 2 minutes into the game big Dom scores.
Our lads played their little hearts out, we were missing Henry and Jake, that saw Toby, Ollie and Joseph stepping up and taking and making good tackles and gaining ground.
Little Dom got out into the wings and saw him back to his old self, weaving and refusing to run in a straight line, that infuriated Fylde no end.
Fylde scored two, in a game that went from touchline to touchline, 21 minutes later Josh levels the score 2:2.

It was a fantastic match to watch, big drives from our props Jacob and Dan and even got us some decent distance with their own runs – right through the middle of the Fylde players then back using their fortes in being the strength behind some decent drives. Thomas found himself getting stuck in and was in the middle of it all throughout.

Coach John must have had a an extra shot of caffeine that morning, he supported, guided and spurred the team on throughout the match he was relentless with his effort.

A 2:2 end result would have been fitting reward for both teams as they both played so well with neither team taking overall control, however in the last second Fylde scored the winning try. 2:3 to Fylde.

Everyone on the side lines could be heard saying what a fantastic match and how well both teams played.
Coach Pete then told our lads that they had just played their 1st team and there was enough time to play their 2nd team, another good game that saw a score of 3:1 to Fleetwood.

A very well deserved player of the week to little Dom and coach of the week to a very vocal coach John.

During the second match the AA air ambulance landed on one of the pitches, we then found out one of the players from another match had been hurt after landing badly during a tackle.
All the players and supporters from the U9`s wish him a speedy recovery.
