Fleetwood away against Burnley

The U9's visited Burnley on Sunday. The weather was sunny and fresh with decent conditions underfoot.
A great turnout saw 12 players avaliable for selection.
The game started well with both teams gaining yards but falling short of scoring due to some great defence work.
Committed tackling from particulary Charlie, Mitch and Jack saw a low scoring first half. Burnley finally managed to breach our defence late on in the first half after a barging run from one of their big, physical first up runners.
The narrow pitch didn't give much opportunity for the Fleetwood runners to show their skill. During the second half and shortly after the restart saw a fantastic passage of play from both sides, with end to end running and great defence.
Both teams battered each other to an almost standstill. Strong and direct running from Kieran and Louis saw the Burnley defenders on the backfoot, with some great weaving runs from Jack and Mitch making the spectators eyeballs wobble in their heads. Adam had a couple of darting runs on the blindside ably supported by Jamie, Zak, Will and Charlie. Fleetwood's only try came from a penalty drive from Thomas.k who scored in the corner and took half of the Burnley team with him.
Stirling work in the forwards from both Thomas's and Cal saw the game conclude with a 4-1 win to Burnley.
A narrow pitch didn't give Fleetwood a proper chance to show off their running skills but solid defence against a big side showed off their grit and determintion. Some things to work on but still a great away performance.
Man of the Match was voted by the Burnley coach and he chose Kieran for his powerful running.
