A strong Falcons outfit, that supplemented a rebuilding Crosfields 14s, was in no mood to allow history to dictate as they took to the field on a fine morning. A great game of attacking rugby league ensued and saw the Falcons overcome their host’s by 36-26 in an exciting display.

An immense try scoring performance from James Roberts, closely followed by Jake Adeniyi, who capped a great first ever game of league with a try as well, were the highlight of the morning. Further tries form Frank McEvoy, who went over from close range following a mazy run from Ben Mason, Harry Leech and Jacob Mitchell sealed the win.

It must be said that the victory could have been more comprehensive but for the Falcons tendency to surrender possession by being too expansive in the wrong areas. This is something that must change in coming games.

All in all, a fine mornings work and a pat on the back for the boys who supplemented the Crosfields team. More than one of the home support passed comment on the determination and passion shown.
