Under 19's kick off season with a win
Our Under 19's came from behind twice to eventually win their opening league match.
With many of Flint's side being at the lower end of the age range, having been part of manager Steve William's under 16's last season, this was an excellent result, as they played some neat, constructive football.
Having enjoyed most of the possession and play early doors, they found themselves going behind against the run of play, when a Caernarfon free kick found it's way into the net as it squirmed under the body of keeper Keiran Feenan.
But Flint hit back soon after, when Lewis Roberts applied a well executed finish to a good attacking move.
In the second half, the Canaries regained the lead once more, this time from the penalty spot, as Jay Norbury was adjudged to have pulled back one of their players, following a scramble in the box. Flint then equalised with a spot kick of their own, as Roberts was brought down as he surged into the box wide on the left hand side. Jake Hampson dispatched the penalty.
Substitute Jack Gaskin powered a header into the net from a corner to make it 3-2 for the home side, before Hampson put a but of gloss on the final result with a well taken goal late on, as he burst through the visitors defence and finished well.
Manager Steve Williams will no doubt be pleased with his side's performance in their first game in the Academy development League. Next weekend a much tougher test awaits them, as they travel to near neighbours Connahs Quay.
