Flint Town United 2 FC Nomads 1

We are now through to the 3rd round of the NEW cup thanks to a 2-1 victory over local rivals Fc Nomads but Nomads will feel they deserved more out of this game such was their dominance of the second half in terms of possession.
Flint were in control of the first half, if not that good to watch. Flint took the lead on 14 minutes where a deep cross from Ieuan Hewitt is slowed down by the swirling wind and Jordan Beck power headed home from 6 yards out. Flint should have extended their lead on 21 minutes as Lee Davey played in Gaz Roberts but his shot was parried by Nomads keeper Houyoak and Houyoak saved the follow up by Davey. Nomads Dan Sullivan was unlucky on 31 minutes from 30 yards out but Flint Keeper Walker was on hand to turn it out for a corner. Flint went 2 up on 34 minutes when from a low cut across goal pass from Stuart Hayes is latched onto by Gaz Roberts and he with one touch passes his marker and shoots low passed a helpless Houyoak in the Nomads goal.
The second half is dreadfull from Flint, the only positive is the defence along with MOM Richie Walker held firm from the onslaught from Fc Nomads. Nomads had a great chance on 55 minutes but it was the brilliance of Walker that kept them out, Aled Reece plays inside to Lee Reynolds who shoots, Walkers makes a great stop but the ball lands at the feet of Reynolds but once again Walker is alert to the danger and dives at the feet of Reynolds and the ball rolls out to safety. The wind came to the rescue of Flint on 60 minutes as Walker doesn't clear his lines and with the ball in the air, Walker misses the follow up but Luke Camden is on hand but his clearance hits Lee Reynolds and rolls towards goal but the gale force wind slows the ball down and allows Walker to collect on the line. Nomads pull one back on 66 minutes as from a corner Ryan Davidson flicks in a header and Lee Reynolds heads in from close range. This you would have thought would have spurred on Nomads but for all the pressure they offered, very little happened and this dispute Flint not having one shot on target the whole half.
Back to league action this Saturday and we will have to improve 1000% if we are to over come high spending Caernarfon.
