A dominant display by the Welsh Premier League side, particularly in the second half saw them cruise through to the next round of the cup.

Flint were much more competitive in the opening 45 minute period, and mounted a series of good attacks, with Jake Hampson, Brandon Burrows and Kai Wallis all causing problems in the opposition half, but they were undone by some basic defensive errors. The Silkmen had the first real chance of the game in the opening few minutes, when Hampson almost caught Bala keeper Vaughn Charles off guard with a 20 yarder, but Charles managed to hold onto it.
Then Flint were undone by two goals in as many minutes. First, in the 12th minute, a failure to clear the ball proved costly, as Kieran Smith took possession and swept the ball home. It was then the midfield that were guilty of losing possession a minute later, and with the defence unable to react. Smith scored his second of the night from around 12 yards out.
Flint hit back 10 minutes later, when Ryan Smith met a cross from the right and headed in.
Just as they looked as though they were going to make it to the interval with just the one goal deficit, Flint were rocked again on 43 minutes. Following a corner, Stuart Jones received the ball with his back to goal, but was afforded too much time and space to manoeuvre himself into a good position, and score.
Into the second half, and Flint had a chance to pull another goal back on 55 minutes. A Burrows shot was blocked, but the ball ran to Richie Foulkes who hit it on the turn and Charles pulled off a good save to deny the Flint skipper.
Instead of 3-2, it was soon 4-1 as a minute later Bala struck again, with Smith getting his hat trick, and effectively sealing the game in favour of the visitors.
Further salt was rubbed into the Flint wounds with a couple of goals from Mike Hayes, first in the 70th minute with a 12 yard strike, and then on 82 minutes when he ran clean through the home defence to slot home and make it 6-1 on the night.
