The Silkmen eased into Round 2 of this season's JD Welsh Cup with a comprehensive 9-0 win over Four Crosses FC

Niall McGuinness' side picked up where they left off last Tuesday evening, when they dispatched Ruthin 7-0, to complete another resounding victory.
Following a period of sustained prressure, the deadlock was broken in the 11th minute, when Nathan Brown slipped a ball through to Callum Bratley, who slotted home from an angle on the right of the 6 yard box.
Bratley then turned provider a couple of minutes later, when he deftly chipped a ball over the defence for Richie Foulkes to run onto, and slide it past visiting keeper Adam Clewlow from close range.
Flint's third goal arrived on 26 minutes, following good work from Kyle Smyth on the right, when he did well to regain possession and then supply a sublime cross that just asked to be finished off. Bratley obliged, by showing good anticipation and side footing home from 6 yards.
It remained 3-0 at the break, although it could easily have been double that score had it not been for some good saves by Clewlow and the woodwork. The Four Crosses keeper denied Foulkes when he produced a good save from the Flint skipper's header on 23 minutes, and improved on that with an excellent stop just before half time when he somehow clawed out Alex Titchner's volley. Bratley was also denied a first half hat-trick when his header crashed against the bar on 40 minutes, following another good Smyth cross.
Flint didn't let up after the interval, and on 46 minutes they further increased their lead when Foulkes crossed from the left and Titchner guided a close range volley into the net.
A well worked free kick by Flint caught Crosses napping on 49 minutes, and resulted in Smyth pulling the ball back across the face of goal for Foulkes to smash it into the roof of the net.
Bratley completed his second hat-trick in the space of 4 days on 52 minutes, when Brandon Burrows squared the ball to him, and he calmly lost his marker before shooting home from just outside the box.
Danny Andrews, who had been introduced as a substitute, picked out Titchner with a pinpoint ball over the top on 62 minutes, and he ran in on goal to score from close range and make it 7-0.
Tom Kemp played a good long ball up to Titchner on 65 minutes, who escaped down the right, and then pulled the ball back to the incoming Andy Brown, who slammed it into the back of the net.
The busy Titchner was brought down inside the box on 85 minutes, as he tried to latch onto another through ball. Foulkes stepped up to dispatch the resulting penalty, and bring the scoring to an end. In doing so, he also completed his own hat-trick, capping yet another formidable display in the Silkmen's midfield, and for the third time already this season, Flint could boast a double hat-trick in the same match.
Our planned match at Llanfair next weekend will have to be resheduled as their Welsh Cup tie was postponed, and that will now take place on Saturday.
