Llandudno maintained their 100% start to the season at the expense of ours on a greasy surface at Cae-Y-Castell.

This was always set to be a difficult encounter against a strong Llandudno side , and so it proved, with Flint playing neat controlled football in the middle of the park but unable to make the most of this advantage.
Llandudno had the first real chance of the game on 14 minutes as Flint keeper Powers came out to the edge of the box and headed the ball clear only as far as Jake Phillips, who plays in Toby Jones. The Llandudno player rounded Powers, but somehow the Flint stopper managed to get back and made a brilliant save at the feet of Jones.
Flint’s first chance came in the 34th minute when Stewart Carroll sends in a cross for Jamil Adam whose glancing header goes just wide of the far post.
The only goal of the game came in the 39th minute when Flint’s defence was left totally flat footed when Toby Jones runs past Jorden Beck who then races to the edge of the 18yard area, squares the ball to Dean Seager who is left totally unmarked, and blasts the ball past Powell.
In the first 20 minutes of the second period both defences were well in control, giving both forwards little option but to play the ball backwards. The best chance of the second half fell to Jamie Adam who picked up a loose ball in the penalty area, and with only the keeper to beat hit an erratic shot that sent the ball wide of the post.
With Flint increasing the pressure, Llandudno were always dangerous on the break, and on one such occasion thought they should have been awarded a penalty when Lee Thomas took a tumble in the box. However their appeals were waved away by the referee.
All in all, a hard fought game was just about shaded by the visitors, who always looked the more menacing in front of goal despite Flint's good work in the middle of the park.
