Flint extended their current winning sequence to seven consecutive games with a 6-1 demolition of high flying Denbigh Town.

This was the Silkmen's most comprehensive and emphatic performance of the season so far, and their slick passing game was simply too hot for a Denbigh side which prior to kick off occupied third place in the league and were just one point off top spot.
Flint began in blitzkrieg style, and raced into a 4 goal lead inside the opening half an hour.
The rout began after 5 minutes, when a Stewart Carroll through ball released Russ Courtney who raced clear and hit a low shot into the back of the net to claim his first goal for the club.
Kyle Smyth went close to doubling the advantage on 13 minutes, when he shot wide from 12 yards following a 3 on 1 numerical advantage from a Flint attack.
On 17 minutes, Phil Doran got to the bye-line, and delivered a low ball across the goal that Simon Thelwell was first to, making it 2-0 for the visitors.
Flint went three up after 21 minutes. This time Kyle Smyth delivered a cross, that Stewart Carroll got on the end of, volleying the ball into the net.
The game was effectively all over on 29 minutes, when dithering in the home defence, allowed Russ Courtney to pounce on the loose ball and crash it home , making it 4-0.
Courtney could have claimed his hat-trick five minutes into the second half, but Denbigh keeper Elliot Power pulled off a good save to deny him.
Denbigh finally started to come into the game around the hour mark, and on 58 minutes, a Kristian Pearce strike from 25 yards finally called Ross Dalton into action and he responded with a great save.
Two minutes later, the home side grabbed their consolation goal, through Carl Lamb, when the Flint defence had momentarily switched off.
Flint weathered the Denbigh storm for the next 10 minutes or so, as the home side sought to bring some respectability to the scoreline.
They soaked it up and then hit back in classic counter attacking style to score two late goals through Paul McManus, who is really now starting to hit top form in a Flint shirt.
His first arrived on 82 minutes when he ran 25 yards, beating three men, before supplying the perfect finish with a low shot. Just two minutes later he struck again, with the goal of the game, producing an exquisite chip from 25 yards, to put the seal on an excellent all round team display.
We are now one of four teams on 26 points and are four points behind the leaders. If we can replicate this type of form in the weeks ahead, then we will be regarded as serious title challengers.
Chairman Darryl Williams was ecstatic with the performance, and his view was echoed by the travelling supporters, as it was an absolute pleasure to watch.
