Flint opened the scoring after 16 minutes when Simon Thelwell was brought down in the box by keeper Alex Ramsey. Jack Abrahams made no mistake, sending the keeper the wrong way. Flint increased their lead in the 29th minute when Stephan Halewood brilliantly lobed the visitors keeper from 36 yards. With a minute remaining Stephan Halewood was adjudged to pull back Mark Griffiths to give Graham Evans the chance to pull one back from the penalty spot, which he clinically did.
It was not till the 75th minute when Flint took a 3-1 lead when a cross from Stephan Halewood was cheekily side footed between the keeper legs. New signing Jason Renshaw made his mark when young Luke Tyson put a ball through the visitors defence to slip past the advancing keeper. Deep in injury time it was Tyson to make his mark with a brilliant solo goal.
