Flint falter in quest for Runners Up spot

Facing a very youthful Bangor side, and knowing wins from their final two games would guarantee 2nd spot, Flint miserably failed to capitalise.

They even had the benefit of taking the lead, when Mark Cadwallader fired them ahead, when an attempted clearance from the Bangor defence struck Andy Brown and he laid it off into Cadwallader's path.
But a laboured display allowed Bangor back into the game, and they took full advantage, with Robbie Parry netting twice for the Citizens. The second coming from the penalty spot, following good work from Jordan Piggott, whose mazy run took him into the 18 yard box, before he was fouled.
Due to prior commitments, I was unable to attend this game, hence the very brief report, but from those Flint supporters that did travel, the general consensus was that this type of performance was several levels below what is expected from a Flint team, and was unacceptable. Fortunately, the players have a chance to make it up to those supporters who travelled down the coast, and make amends for their poor display when they face Prestatyn Town at home in the last game of the season, next weekend. Victory would still give the Silkmen second spot, following Porthmadog's own defeat at home to Guilsfield.
