In our re-arranged game against Conwy tonight we came away losing 1-0 but that score line didn't justify the way the game panned out although both keepers had no shots to save we probably played  our best football of the season tonight. From the start we pushed with pace, with Paul Williams down the right causing problem turning defenders and putting in some great crosses and debutant Rob Salathiel down the left banging in cross after cross. Flint had a chance on 11 minutes when from a Rob Salathiel  corner the ball fell to Matty Harvey but he could only put the ball wide from 6 yards out. Shaun Williams shot over from distance on 41 minutes. A quality first half with the defence outstanding along with a very creative midfield but unfortunately the front line not being able to turn our possession into goals.
The second half we started bright again and on 54 minutes out on the left  Flints Shaun Beck picks up the ball and rounds keeper Terry McCormick who pulls Beck down outside the box but only gets a yellow card even though the Conwy defence wouldnt have got back to stop a goal. Conwy have a rare chance on 65 minutes, Mike Jukes cutting inside but fires over from the edge of the box. Flint are down to 10 men on 84 minutes as debutant Rob Salathiel limps off with Flint having already made 3 substitutions. With the game looking as it was to end goalless up steps Lloyd Ellams 25 yards out and unaposed shoots past the stranded Flint keeper Mike Jones.
Not the result we deserved but so many positives in this game to take into the Welsh Cup game against Caerau Ely on Saturday.
