Another typical rubbish display contributes to the 3-1 loss today at the hands of Llandudno. Flint were so poor that they only managed two shots at goal and only one on target. At the final whistle the only noise to be heard was the disgruntled mutters from the Flint faithful and the cheers from the following Llandudno contingent. This is by far the worst Flint side we have seen for many a year and the main reason for that is a number of players who are simply not good enough for this standard of football and who have no heart or passion and it is just not acceptable to Flint and their fans.
Llandudno totally deserved their victory as they were in control of this game from the off. Llandudno had their first chance on 4 minutes when a rare mistake from John Hill who gave the ball away when in no danger but was saved his blushes by the excellent Ben Jones in goal as he saved with his feet to denie Dean Seargar. Llandudno had another great chance on 11 minutes this time a great long ball from Conn Tierney finds Dean Seagar goal side of John Hill but he is denied by a comfortable save from Jones in the Flint goal. Flints first chance came on 21 minutes when a ball over from Stewart Carroll finds Tom Smith who’s volley just went over the cross bar. Llandudno take the lead on 30 minutes, Arron Pritchard sees his shot cleared off the line by Scott beckett the resulting corner sees a wonder save from Jones to denie Lee Thomas but the second resulting corner is sent in and an unmarked Lee Thomas heads the ball home.
Llandudno stay in control in the second half and are two up on 55 minutes when an unmarked Toby Jones has no problems from 8 yards out. Three minutes later Llandudno treble their lead when a long ball up field is undelt with by the poor Flint defence and Dean Seagar scores all too easily. The very impressive Ben Jones pulls off another great save on 67 minutes to denie Dean Seagar. Flint get their consolation on 85 minutes when sub Gareth Roberts scores from 12 yards out.
Llanberiss up next in the Welsh cup and Flint really do need a change of fortune or we will find ourselves exiting at the first round stage.
