In our longest journey of the season we were pathetically turned over to the tune of 6-1. This embarrassing display allowed lowly Penrhyncoch to dictate from the start.
The hosts took the lead straight from a broken down Flint attack and eased up field and with only 4 passes the ball is in the back of the net from Shaun Meredith. Flints Stewart Carroll missed an easy chance on 18 minutes when from a John Davies free kick the ball is cleared to Stewart Carroll and with the goal open he pulls his shot wide from the edge of the box. Flint have a chance on 24 minutes when the Penrhyncoch keeper denies Jon Rush. Penrhyncoch make it 2-0 on 33 minutes when a poor Flint defence only clear out of their box and Shaun Meredith shoots low from 25 yards out low into the corner of the net. It's 3-0 on 40 minutes when John Hill is deemed to have fouled in the box ( the referee admitting he got it wrong at half time ) and Aaron Lemon scores the awarded penalty.
The second half Flint are lively but only for 10 minutes, Jon Rush missing from 4 yards out following a Derek Taylor low cross. Penrhyncoch dominate again but it's Flint who score next when a cross from Lee Davey somehow finds the back of the net. Penrhyncoch further their dominance on 61 minutes when John Davies gives the ball away deep in his own half and Josh Hattrick scores from 22 yards out. Flints last attack of the game came on 63 minutes, Lee Davey heading over the bar from 3 yards out. Penrhyncoch make it 5-1 on 67 minutes when a weak back pass from Danny Dobbins is latched onto by Shaun Meredith and he make no mistake. The embarrassment is complete on 75 minutes when Aaron Lemon walks past Flints two centre halfs to side foot home.
A very poor show from Flint today and it's got to be said that at least 8 on show today are simply not good enough. A dramatic change of fortune is required or we will be in the dreaded relagation dog fight and possible be facing Welsh alliance football next season.
