Our wows on the road continued today as we fell to a 2-0 defeat to Caersws but we could have got a result out of this today as the same old, same old was there as we missed a handful of clear cut chances along with at times some amateurish defending.

Flint made a bright start but almost fell behind on 12 minutes as a weak header back from Luke Camden is latched onto by Mark Griffiths but the advancing Walker in the Flint Goal done enough to to make Griffiths shoot wide. Flint miss a clear cut chance on 19 minutes as a great ball across field from Stewart Carroll to Gareth Roberts sees Roberts on goal but bizarrely decides to wait to play in a marked Johnny Taylor when the shot was the obvious option. As the half went on both teams cancelled each other out but once again Flint are guilty of a clear cut chance, this time a quality defence splitting ball from Gareth Roberts is met by Johnny Taylor but Taylor rushed his shot under no pressure and went wide from 12 yards out.
The second half for the first 15 minutes sees a different Flint side as they lost all shape and desire and were behind on 52 minutes as the Flint defence seemed to re- inact the parting of the Red Sea by Moses as they split into 2 groups to allow Mark Griffiths to score with ease from 10 yards out. Flint again missed a clear cut chance as from a ball over the top is met by Graham Dyment and his ball into Mark Winslsde is met first time but his weakish shot was well saved by Dave Jones. Minutes later Flints defence were all over the place but keeper Walker made a great save to keep the score down. 75 minutes Flint miss another great chance as a Graham Dyment cross is met by Shaun Beck but he didn't get enough on his header as Jones tipped over the Barr from 8 yards out. The Blue Birds made sure of the points on 86 minutes as Mike Collister converted a Iwan Lewis low cross whilst surrounded by 4 Flint defenders.
Chances were there but you win nothing if you have not got the end product.
