All of our Folly teams were in action again this weekend, with the exception of the under 13s who had a late cancellation from Widnes Moorfield.

The under 16s continued their strong start to the season with another impressive win, this time against Culcheth Eagles, where they strolled to a 32-0 victory at Swinton High. Nathan Baker’s under 15s showed great spirit in their defeat to a strong Ince Rose Bridge side, with a late rally seeing the away team chalking up a 22-10. Following an impressive cup win last week’s, the under 14s travelled to Wigan St Judes, but the Wigan team have proved to be a bit of a bogie side away from home, with the result favouring the hosts, 24-14.

The mini’s produced some excellent performances at every age group this week, with the under 7s starting the ball rolling with a superb 14-11 win against Ashton Bears with the side securing their second win of the season and showing their continued improvement. Both of the 8s managing back to back wins with impressive performances on the road, with the Crusaders victorious over Burtonwood (10-8) and the Lions defeating Culcheth Eagle Owls (14-11).

With both 9s teams at home, the Crusaders and Lions continue their own undefeated runs. The Crusaders remain unbeaten this season and are looking to be pushed up a group following their win against Portico Panthers (13-6). A real upturn in performances for the Lions saw them extend their winning streak to three games, with the side being boosted by three excellent new signings, not to mention great performances from the team’s stalwarts.

There were away days for the 10s and 11s, with the 10s travelling to Rylands and once again putting in a great display against strong opposition. There wasn’t anything between the two teams with this being a testament to the excellent work of the kids and coaches and the final score ended up 12-12. The 11s made the journey to Chorley Panthers and it was another close encounter with the difference being one try in a high scoring game, where the home side eventually won 40-36.
