Well done today, everyone!
It was great to see the hard work from training starting to come through on the pitch, especially in the first half. The three-in-the-tackle drill we’ve focused on really showed today, and the communication in the tackle was fantastic to see. As the saying goes, defence wins rugby matches!

I was really impressed with some of the support play, particularly Roman’s try. Freddie’s running was outstanding—constantly looking to offload after making serious yards. Roman’s support play led to a well-earned try, one of three for him today! His overall play in both attack and defence was excellent, always looking to keep the ball alive with some great runs.

Zac’s support play deep in our own half resulted in a lung-busting full-length try—an incredible effort and pure determination to get to the line! He adapted to the hooker role brilliantly, delivering accurate passing throughout.

Lucas was always available for a run, making great ground every time and grabbing a well-deserved try. His line speed was excellent, always looking to close the opposition down.

Bertie was a nightmare for the opposition all match with his drop of the shoulder and hard running, earning himself a hat-trick. He was often the first in the tackle, taking the initial hit and allowing teammates to support.

Oscar and Teddy were brilliant in defence today—no backward steps and always eager to take drives in, gaining valuable ground for the team. Both are improving every game and becoming key players.

Axel’s ability to pick up the ball and step through the entire team was back in full force, scoring two quality tries. His tackling technique was top-notch as well.

Ayden and Jacob put in some great work on the wing, always available for the scoot, making strong runs, and dropping back well on the opposition’s fifth tackle.

Bertie, Roman, and Zac worked really well together in the middle, organising our attack and communicating throughout. It’s the first time we’ve played with this much structure, and they handled it brilliantly.

Our forwards put in some incredible defensive work in the middle of the park, backed up by our backs when the ball went wide. We just need to remember to push up in a line every time with good line speed.
