Formby CC captain Andy Halpin has announced that the club have signed James Kennedy as overseas player for the forthcoming season.

As in previous years, James has joined us via the New South Wales scholarship scheme. The scholarship has seen the likes of Sam Hinton, Stephen O'Keefe (now a full international for Australia) and Justin Waller, to name just a few, represent Formby in previous seasons.

James is a left arm fast bowler and is 21 years of age. He is currently enjoying a fantastic season over in Australia representing Gordon. He has played 15 1st grade games taking 32 wickets at an average of 20.3. He is also very handy with the bat with an average of 15.1.

We look forward to welcoming James who will play his first match for Formby away at Maghull on May 7th. His first home game will be the following week against Rainhill. We hope that you can all make a big effort to get down to the club for our first home league game and give James a good welcome.

We are sure that you will agree James will strengthen our side and help us move forward.

We hope to be able to announce a further 1 or 2 signings in the upcoming weeks and you will of course be the first to know.
