Forth Valley Vikings will start our title defence on the 27th May with a visit from Aberdeen Warriors.
Aberdeen will be travelling to Tillicoultry for the first time and the Vikings will be sure to give them a warm welcome. Forth Valley Vikings haven't been able to beat Aberdeen since our formation in 2020 but with additions to the squad and the players gaining experience year on year, we aim to get the win this time.
With a tough Pre-season friendly (opponents to be announced in due course) for our charity day on Sunday 14th May, Hillfoots Rugby Club Charity Touch Tournament a week later and then Aberdeen at home. The players will get a well deserved rest with a few weeks off due to the Magic weekend and a bye week.
The Vikings are will travel to Glasgow on the 17th June where we will carry on our friendly rivalry with Glasgow RL. Forth Valley Vikings have had some great games over the last two years against Glasgow and friendships have been formed and we look forward to continuing this in 2023.
The Vikings will make the long bus trip to Aberdeen on 24th June. We have travelled to Aberdeen twice and it is always a hit with the players, who doesn't like a game of Rugby League followed by a good karaoke session belting out our Club songs.
We will then face Glasgow 2 weeks on the bounce. Away 8th July, home 15th July for the Cup Semi Final and Final League Game of the season respectively.
The Rugby League season will conclude on the 22nd July with the Scottish cup final (Venue TBC). Where the two teams playing are not only playing to be crowned the Scottish Cup Champions, but will gain the Prestigious Betfred Challenge Cup spot for Scotland RL.
We would like to thank all our sponsors for their support in 2023 and hope to do you proud out on the pitch.
