Welcome to some new trainers.

Due to my work commitments last week there was no Red Group Report. So a belated welcome to the following members that have joined Foundations in Football,

Luke Buttery
Alfie Capille
Lacey Fowler
Jake Gready
Ashton Morris
Samuel Morris

That takes us to 42 in total signed up for this course. Therefore at this time we have no space and are creating a waiting list for any new trainers that wish to join Foundations in Football.

RED GROUP REPORT

19 trainers turned up this morning, which was an excellent turn out.

We started the session with EGG HUNT. There was a coned off area with an EGG BASKET in the corner. Within the zone we had scattered loads of EGGS (Footballs) When I said GO, the players had to run as fast as they could, pick up an EGG and gently place into the EGG BASKET. The game stopped when all the EGGS had been collected and were placed into the basket. They seemed to enjoy this. This worked on their co-ordination, footwork, communication and awareness.

We then moved onto HEADS, SHOULDERS, KNEES and TOES. The players all found some space and when I shouted one of the commands they has to place that body part on the ball. If I shouted FIVE, then it was 5 side to sides, if I shouted TEN, it was 10 toe taps. The players really had to pay attention this morning to keep up and there was some excellent listening and skill this morning by some of the players.

The final game this morning was FETCH. In pairs they numbered themselves 1 and 2. No 1's kicked the ball away from where they were standing. Myself or Barry would shout a number between 1 and 10, they would (as a pair) run to the ball and play that number of passes to each other until they returned to their starting positions. Some of the players forgot it was a team game and stood still instead of running off with their partner!!!!

We then split the players into 2 (10 and 9 players) for 2 small sided games.

In my group Rhys Southcombe was on fire as he played some great football and scored a good goal. Chloe did well in goal as she kept waving her hands in the air to try to make some saves!!

Incentive Badge Winners

Gareth's Choices

Rhys Southcombe - Rhys was excellent in the match today, the best I have seen him play. Topping it off with a nice goal and fully deserving his gold star badge.

Chloe Mackay - Chloe's top taps this morning were very precise as she was concentrating on getting the technique right. Chloe then went in goal in the 2nd part of the match and did well, as her positioning was very good.

Jacob Dean - Jacob was concentrating in all the games today and was paying attention in the Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes game.

Barry's Choices

Jake Citro - Jake did well in the drills and Barry was impressed with his play in the match at the end of the session.

Jake Gready - Jake's 2nd week at FIF and already making an impression with Barry with his football, especially in today's game.
