Downderry Rovers 2-2 Foxhole

Back in February these sides met in the league. This proved to be the last competitive game for both sides in 2020 owing to the inclement winter weather and the coronavirus lockdown and subsequent suspension of team sport. Back then Rovers were victorious, running out 3-1 winners.

Fast forward 7 months, and with restrictions lifted the new Cornwall Veterans League season was able to get under way and the Foxes came away with a hard earned point, twice coming from behind to draw 2-2.

Slightly against the run of play Foxhole fell behind in the 6th minute which is how it stayed until half time. Steve Wheatley levelled the scores on 56 mins, but with a quarter of an hour remaining Rovers went ahead once more. However, five minutes later, Steve Best capitalised on a defensive slip to level again. Despite some late pressure the Foxes held out for a deserved point
