Royal Par 0-1 Foxhole

A solitary Steve Wheatley goal saw the Foxes overcome local rivals Royal Par on a bone hard, bobbly pitch at Par Running Track.

Although the visitors dominated the majority of the game, a combination of poor finishing, determined defending by the hosts and home goalkeeper Rob Cock in fine form, Foxhole often found themselves frustrated.

A linesman's flag denied Kev Grainger in the first half when he ran through and slotted past the keeper in a goal less first half. It was a close call, with many observers feeling Grainger had beaten the home side's offside trap.

Mark Carter came close on a couple of occasions. The nearest when he saw an effort strike the woodwork.

The breakthrough came when Wheatley found the back of the net with a cheeky back heeled finish.

The Foxes continued to press, but were repelled by the resolute home defence, well served by Dave Holley and Paul Morgan who continually made well timed blocks and tackles.

Foxhole ended the game nervously and conceded a free kick in dangerous territory in the final moments. Thankfully for the visitors, 'keeper Billy Holland claimed Holley's high ball into the box to secure the win for the Foxes.
