FCRFC v Minehead
Framptons future senior players had a demanding journey to endure to Minehead for match 2 in the Somerset Under 18's league in confident mood and looking to build on the previous weeks performance and duly delivered with a good victory 45 to 5.
It was a tight first ten minutes with neither team able to capitalise on possession and territory. However a well worked try came with Framptons back line breaking through the Minehead defence for a great try to start things of. With confidence high and Framptons forward pack securing good possession, the lads ran in 7 try's in total. A fine place kicking display from James Knight saw him convert 5 from 7.
Two tries a piece from Joe Mansfield & Kyle Sheppard, with further try's from Tom Baker, Tom Curnock and Dan Carey delivered the bonus point victory which took Framptons young guns to the top of the league.
Minehead stuck at it though and scored a well deserved try towards the end of the match.
If there was an area for improvement, the line out took a while to fire however the loss of Primary jumper, Guy Van 'the man' Onselen through illness in the first 10 mins was a blow. However, as always there were many positives, especially that ever important axis at No. 8, 9, 10, 12 &13. All had huge games and played extremely well.
Frampton now have to travel to Chard on Saturday for a very tough match to make it 3 from 3.
