Solid U15s Team Performance in Local Derby

Solid Team performance in this local derby against St Mary's at Hoopers, Frampton opted for the slope & wind advantage, the home team used their size/weight to their full advantage turning over the early scrums, the front 5 of Casey/Roberts/Allen/Wyatt & Wilks were in impressive form, forcing Mary's to defend their line but a charge down allowed Ryan Giddings to pounce to open the scoring, then possibly came the try of the season from Luke Butters, collected a high ball in our own half, mazy run dodging all to score under the posts, from the re-start Dan Harris powered his way over the defenders & offloaded to our whippet Alex Knight who sailed down the wing to score out wide, good inter-passing by the forwards let Callum Wyatt power over next with 3 conversions by Lewis Oakley, turning 26-0 up, to be fair to Mary's they came out the stronger in the 2nd half and tried to break down the dogged defence but wave after wave was stopped in their tracks, Ben Rowson/Doris Day in bullish mood, Dan Harris peeled off and used his pace to cross the white-wash for our 5th try of the afternoon, in the previous encounter between these two teams, the home side allowed the opposition to come back late into the game, not on this day and probably Mary's were intimidated but never gave up to their credit until the final whistle along with a number of injuries taken on the day, Frampton ran out 31-0 winners and comforting display for the Coaches after some hard fixtures in the Glos Cup!

Hard to choose on the day as all the lads delivered but Man of the Match went to Luke Butters and Most Improved to Jack Day.
