Away at Old Bristolians

It was a case of too many Easter eggs for Fram at Old Bristolians as the hosts

ran in 14 tries. A mixture of rules meant a change around of personnel as Matt

switched to full back with Ben as hooker alongside Charlie and Royston with a

second row of Nikolas and Olly.

A slow start by Fram enabled OBs to get on the score sheet straight from the

kick off. A second try soon followed as several missed tackles meant they

were able to run though and score. After a good passing move from OBs a

third try was scored in the corner and they would have scored again had it not

been for a great tackle by Matt who held the OBs player up right on the line.

However a kick out by Fram was picked up and ran through for a score as the

first period came to an end.

The break enabled Ned and the coaches to give the boys a much needed

boost and this certainly worked as although the second period was scoreless

the performance was far better. Fram showed greater commitment and their

strength showed on several occasions as they pushed the OBs pack back

with several strong runs by Jamie. The work rate was a lot better and they

were so close to a try when a powerful run by Gabe nearly resulted in a score

but he was held up right on the OBs line.

The third period started well for Fram as well who were defending well

especially by Jack who had two great kicks, high and deep inside the OBs

half. However the hosts scored five tries in the period, a combination of good

passing and some missed tackles enabled OBs to extend their lead.

OBs scored another four tries in the final period however there was some

encouraging tackling especially by Marcus and Lewis which helped restrict the

score.

A tough day for Fram today but they kept going and certainly deserved their

hot dog at the end of the game.
