FCRFC v St Brendans U7's 8th December 2013

The cold overcast morning of 8th December saw our U7’s welcome St Brendan’s for a home game. All our players got to play three four-a-side matches and with the exception of the first game, our boys and girl won or drew each game against the visitors.
This is the first season for many of our U7’s players and it has to be said that they all display excellent team work on the pitch with confident defending and determined attacking which is reflected in their success.
Led by their coach Dominic and his support team Gareth, Darren and Phil one match saw our U7’s remain focused as St Brendan’s took control of the ball heading towards their try line. Our defence stayed strong and supported each other as they narrowly missed tagging their opposition on three separate occasions before finally getting the tag to stop them scoring.
Whilst in another match, controlled passing of the ball allowed for our player to break away from St Brendan’s defence and score a winning try.
Both teams were well matched with our U7’s just narrowly beating St Brendan’s overall.
