It was a long journey to fleetwood for the freck boy this bright and sunny Sunday morning. All of us with our hair brushed and looking pretty for our photo shoot. A well drilled warm up before the whistle got all of us going. Josh putting the lads through there paces with some top drills.
First half kicks off. Freck found them selves one nil down.
Whistle goes for half time, nothing really happened in the first half infact the best bit of the 1st half was when Nath shouted at there liner and he dropped his flag and started walking off to go home. Poor lad.
The lads come back with there heads down but a stern word from management got the lads believing what they could do.
Second half kicks off and boy did the freck lads turn up.
From the kick off it was pass and move, showing for each other, playing for each other and giving 100%. They knew there chance would come. After a great build up play, Boardman played in a wonderful through ball for Worden to latch on and run with it and knock it past there keeper to make it 1-1. The boys knew it was coming and we wouldn’t stop there.
A great tactical move by management saw Adam come out of net for Harry with Adam moving into centre mid to help get stuck in. Harry pulled off some good save s to keep us in it time and time again with Marshall court threatening a few times.
A nice build up play again in the middle saw Haase play a cracking ball through to Lamb who as a sub came on and played well and took his chance. A great right foot from 19.7 yards out hits the back of the net. Straight away running towards Archie for a cuddle- a beautiful scene and I wish them all the happiness in the world, a great couple.
2-1 freck.
It carried on in the same fashion really for the remainder of the game, some nice play for us and getting stuck when needed to. Freckleton deserves a penalty after some nice play, saw there right back kick Shaun in the foot to bring him down- obviously Colin was no where near the incident and told Shaun to get up.
Full time and a brilliant start to the league. Hopefully next week we will start from the off and not let the opposition team have a chance ??.
Special mention to Dom and Matthew having to deal with that big f**ker - I’m glad he was there striker rather than a defender ?
Man of the match and very well deserved was Archie. Well done ❤️
