Freeland welcomed Horspath in what was there first game of the season.
On a sunny night midweek at the Simon Hole memorial ground the home side started very well.
There were a few new faces on show for the reds and the boys were gelling well in the opening exchanges.
Liam, I could have a fight in a phone box Harris had told Matt Longford that he was going to score more goals for him this season and we didn’t have to wait long for this to happen.
A rasping right foot drive from distance finding the bottom corner after crashing off the inside of the post.
Good start and the reds had the momentum. A second followed shortly after when Tom Marvel McCudden found the bottom corner after a nice one two with his partner in crime Danny Taylor.
Two nil up after 23Mins and Freeland couldn’t have wished to have started the season any better.
A third goal before half time looked inevitable and it did arrive shortly before the half hour mark.
Not to be out done by his strike partner Danny I don’t go to the Gym Taylor converted a lovely cross from Pretty boy Tom Parker and the game was put to bed before halftime.
The second half was a non-event to be honest Horspath did retain a lot of the ball and didn’t really create too much going forward.
Freeland should have added to there total and were wasteful in from of goal.
I’m hoping they are saving them for another afternoon.
Three nil job done. I love Saturdays, I love Wednesdays in this case as well. Yarnton at home next let’s hope we get a result in that one as well.
