Freeland welcomed Charlgrove to the fortress not knowing what Charlgrove side would turn up.
We have had many battles with our opposition and it could be said that they are the Reds bogey side as the opponents do usually tend to get a result.
The first half side started brightly for the home side and the Reds were moving the ball around well. (To the Delight of Mr Darren MacNamara it must be said.)
It wasn’t long before Freeland took a deserved lead when Jonny of the Spot Taylor finished extremely well from a tight angle left footed.
On a glorious afternoon Freeland were playing some good stuff and really should have taken the extra chances that came there way in the first half.
This didn’t happen, and the Reds went in at half time one goal to the good.
Thankfully the away side missed a fantastic change to equalise just after the hour mark.
They were made to pay as Tom Marvel McCudden latched onto a lovely threw ball and finished confidently.
The striker who had an excellent afternoon was soon to grab his second and his sides third.
A decent passage of play resulting in Danny Taylor serving up McCuddens brace on a plate at the far post.
Game over now and the Reds can relax. They should have added a couple more goals, but it wasn’t to be.
Reds 3 Chargrove 0. I still really love Saturdays. See you next week for OUP away and the reds make the short trip up the A40.
