Can we continue where we left off ??

Freeland Travelled the short distance to Oup hoping to continue their superb start to the season.
A settled side and a system that was working well was evident again this afternoon.
The opening exchanges in this one was very even with both sides going close in the opening mins.
The deadly duo up front had started the season well and I’m sure they wanted to add to their tally today.
The away side understood it was at this very ground last year they let themselves down badly and their standards slip.
This was also the ground that saw the infamous water bottle gate. (Don’t ever be first to the water) It was also the ground where Darren MacNamara was slightly aggrieved about the Reds first half performance with the players ears still ringing from 7 months previous.
Anyway, all ghosts were put to rest as Danny Taylor opened the scoring for Freeland within the first ten mins. A snap shot right foot from 12 yards finding the bottom right hand corner.
It was then time for Tom. I don’t like to miss out McCudden to get on the score sheet. A left footed shot (Right ones for standing on) finding the top corner and another top strike from the former Eynsham man.
Things were going well for the away side and returning legend and all-round top bloke Stuart Hole getting his first goal back after a brief 8-year stint as North Leighs Captain. A trademark header from the centre of the box and the away side went in halftime three up.
Things were a lot more relaxed at halftime and the management just wanted the boys to carry on as they have in the first 45 mins.
It wasn’t long before that man Taylor scored again. Another well worked goal with Danny finishing the move with a delightful finish from close range.
Does lighting strike twice?? Well it struck three times in this one for Taylor as he completed his Hattrick with twelve mins left.
Eddie Parker finding Taylor at the back stick with the white-hot striker crashing home from eight yards.
So, the final score here was OUP 0 Reds 5. By far their best performance of the season so far.
I really do love Saturdays. We look forward to a trip to Long Crendon in the Presidents cup next weekend.
