Freeland entertained league leaders Cropredy to the Simon Hole Memorial ground.
The reds knew that this was a massive game and a win would close the gap to the leaders who were 8 points in front, but Freeland have 6 games in hand to claw back the lead.
The game started at a frantic pace with both sides playing well and both sides feeling that they could have scored in the opening exchanges.
The game in the latter stages of the first half belonged to the reds and they really should have gone into the break at least one goal to the good.
Liam Harris flashing a ball over from 15 yards. He really should have done a lot better after creating the chance for himself after a great exchange with Eddie Parker on the edge of the box.
So, the half time score was 0-0 at the break.
The second half started the same way as the first did really. Longford and McNamara encouraging the boys to get on the front foot and get some more shots off when they are in the final third.
Chances came and went for both sides. The impressive Dan Watkin for Cropredy was starting to get a foot hold on the game and the winger was looking dangerous every time he received the ball.
The Reds talisman McCudden was not to be out done though and Tom was trying his hardest to make something happen for the home side every time he received the ball.
The deadlock was broken, and it was the away side that grabbed the league.
A great cross field ball by Watkin found Reeves who crossed the ball for Thornton to score at the back post.
Sloppy from the home side who had switched off and were punished.
Could this be Freeland first defeat in the league this season. No is answer that man again Danny Taylor finding a goal when the reds most needed one. A superb cross in from Craig Wood found Taylor first time left footed on the volley and the ball flashed past Fox in the Cropredy goal.
Nervous times for both sides in the final few minutes Captain Simon Calley was unlucky not to score when his goal bound shot was cleared off the line. Cropredy will feel the same as Eddie Parker some how managed to clear off his line after Adam Lonsdale was beaten.
The last chance came and went for the away side as well. Striker Reeves really should have won the game he dragged his shot wide with the goal at his mercy.
A fair result. Two good sides. They will lock horns again later in the season in what will be a massive game again for both clubs.
I m still loving Saturdays. See you at the weekend.
