Quarter Final time playing away should be at home.

Freeland traveled to Horspath in the Quarter final of the Ben Turner Cup. They had decided to swap the fixture as the Simon Hole memorial ground was looking for a better want for words very tired. It always seems that we play the same opposition in cup games recently and to be fair they are always highly charged competitive games with lots of goals and lots of talking points.

This one in truth didn't really lead up to the billing and Freeland struggled from the off. They looked lethargic and everything seemed a real effort.
Horspath took the lead and it was a mistake at the back that gifted the home side the lead.

Darren Macnamara tried to rally his troops and his partner in crime Matt Longford was unavailable for the fixture due to the early arrival of his son.
Even these words from an irritated MacNamara couldn't rouse his troops.

A second half penalty from Tom McCudden was the only only real shinning light on a pretty poor day for the Red men.
Liam Harris had a fantastic shout for a penalty late on but his protests were waved away by referee Keith Godfrey. I'm thinking this was more of a penalty than the one originally given but its seems Refs are very reluctant to give a second penalty if they have already awarded one to a side.
Anyway this wasn't the reason we lost the game 2-1 we were not good enough on the day and hopefully this will be a wake up call for the whole squad in the coming weeks where we will all need to be a whole lot better.

Love Saturdays Love the Redmen. Although didnt love this one so much. See you at the weekend.
