Seventh Heaven

Freeland entertained Marston Saints at the Simon Hole Memorial Ground.
The reds had previously scored seven against the same opponents just a few weeks ago without reply.
Freeland expected a tougher game this time round and knew that had to be in top form to continue this decent run they were on at present.
10 Mins in and the perfect start for the home side that man again Tom McCudden finding the bottom corner after a decent move down Freeland’s right-hand side.
Off and running and the second goal arrived in the form of Stuart Hole who finished smartly after Marston failed to clear their lines from a corner.
Danny Taylor was the next man on the scoresheet and again it was a great finish left footed high to the goalkeepers right that gave the Reds and great platform to go on and try and get some more goals.
Stuart Hole was on target again and the centre half was now becoming a permanent fixture on the scoresheet of late.
We now entered the final 15 mins of the match and the home side were in total control. Jason Lonsdale the next man to find the back of the net. Some great work by Eddie Parker finished off by every centre half’s nightmare Jason (I’m the better brother) Lonsdale.
We then entered the final ten minutes and it was the moment we had been waiting for. Eddie, I don’t mind a step over Parker finally broke his duck. He did it in style beating three defenders before crashing a right footed drive low to the keepers left.
Just when we had thought we had seen it all the moment came when Veteran and Gaffer Matt Longford had to make an appearance. This was because the management had decided that Liam the Jack Russell Harris was on his fourth final warning and had to come and stand next to Sam Symonds, so the assistant Manager could feed him his calming Dog biscuits.
The gaffer all to familiar to cameo striking appearances was leading the line well, and in the final, few seconds a great cross from Lewis White found the veteran at the back post. After doing fantastically well to control and turn on six pence the gaffer sat the keeper down (Giving him the eyes) and then smashed the ball against the Marston upright.
It was a shame but all in all a fantastic result for the reds who continue to hunt Kennington and Cropredy down for top spot.
I love Saturdays and let’s hope I love Good Fridays when we have a small game against Hanborough at Oxford City. See you all there.
