Frickley deliver a Premier performance

The Blues went into full on Beast Mode yesterday afternoon, with a display reminiscent of last season when we overrun & run over teams.

The pack was shuffled somewhat - Phil Watt replaced the unavailable 'Ice' Burgin, The Fire McGuire (more of him later) returned to the line up after his loan spell at Scarborough & Big Ant (more of him later too!) took a place on the bench, as did the Non League De Gea, Jon Hood!!

Also making his first start at the Wezziecana was Graham Mears & his 3 friends (sorry guys, I didn't get your names). Graham lives in Bournemouth & won the Premier League last season managing Frickley on Football Manager. They very much enjoyed the Frickley Experience so thank you to everyone who made them feel welcome & welcomed.

Sam Liversidge fizzed a shot just past the upright in the first five minutes for Frickley & the rest of the half continued in the same vein but the hosts just couldn’t find a breakthrough.

However, the Daniels went in a goal to the good when Robert Morgan saw his speculative shot from 20-odd yards creep inside the post in time added on at the end of the half.

Frickley started the second period well with a goal disallowed early on.

The hosts made the pressure pay in the 66th minute when Jacob Hazel scored with a superb volley to level affairs - Jacobs 91st goal for the club
The Blues went ahead on 72 minutes when Hazel hooked the ball forward for sub Ant Wilson to ride a heavy challenge before shooting for goal, Daniel Haystead in Stamford’s net could only parry the ball into the path of Tyler Walton to tap in.

Big Ant made it safe in the 87th minute with a wonderful piece of control and an overhead kick into the bottom corner from 10 yards - if it had been a Premiership player Lineker would have had his chinos round his ankles. It was Frank Worthington-esque - one for our younger listeners.

There was still time for Hazel to get his second (& 92nd) and Frickley’s fourth from a narrow angle in the 90th minute.

A tremendous team display - it was a joy to watch.

WEBMASTER MOTM - I could award this a number of times over but here goes.....the back unit were excellent, big shout for The Power Watt who was massive. In midfield McGuire was excellent & Sam Liversidge anchored it to allow Jordan to play further forward. Haze & Tyler were unplayable at times but I'm giving the Glitterball to a player who completely changed the game when he came on - Big Ant Wilson. He was tremendous - he battled to create the 2nd & his goal was sublime.

TWITTER POLL MOTM - absolute photo finish with 4 votes separating 3 players. Haze nicks it from Tyler with McGuire right behind them. Killer Watt also polled good numbers. Thank you for voting

206 through the gate - many thanks to everyone for attending.

Next up we are away to Spalding, hopefully we'll see you there
