The oldest outgunned by the boldest!

The Azzurri put in a solid 90 minutes (plus 10 minutes Fergie time!) against play off chasing Sheffield & got the victory that they deserved.

Sam Wilson continued between the sticks (Hugo has now been given the all clear to train & play), Killer Watt was still out as a result of his clash with Hugo, & Todd Jordan is still out which left us a bit sparse on the bench - but it was the same starting 11 as the Ponte game.

Fairly ebb & flow for the first 15, then Luke released Haze but he crashed his shot into the trees behind the nets. 15 minutes later he made no mistake though - great work by Tyler & Karl Byrne released Haze & he caressed his shot past the keeper & into the onion bag. That was his 94th goal for the club. It was nearly 2 nil shortly after as Youngy flicked a header inches over.

The other main point of the first half was when ex-Blue Richie Patts got the ball straight in his dial - his proboscis was interestingly colourful after the game!

HALF TIME - SHEFFIELD 0 FRICKLEY 1

It was more of the same in the 2nd half, plenty of midfield jousting & occasional attacking forays & on the hour 1 such foray led to Sheffield equalising.

The game entered the last 5 minutes of the 90 & it looked like it was heading for a draw until Haze pull a Bergkampesque volley out of the locker & smashed the winner in off the bar. His 2nd of the game & 95th all time!!

An excellent team performance against a very decent Sheffield team & very much appreciated by all the travelling fans amongst the 336 in the crowd. Thank you again to everyone who travelled.

WEBMASTER MOTM - I was going to cop out & give a blanket award to the defensive unit who were excellent. Sam was dominant in the area, & got great cover from Charlie (with his dad watching on!), Jammer & Ousman. During his modelling career, Youngy was a famous underwear model & was regularly seen with his pants up, no-one ever caught him with his pants down though & that didn't change on Saturday.......

McGuire was like a wrecking ball again in midfield & Hinsley & Haze up top were constantly on the move & threatening. But I'm giving the Glitterball to Karl Byrne - he was outstanding & regularly shifted from defence to wing back - well done Karl.

TWITTER POLL MOTM - Haze was the clear winner, with Karl Byrne getting a good number of votes. Also polling were Youngy, McGuire & Jam. Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote. All the votes from this month will be collated to give us the Player of the Month (which will be announced when I get the abacus out of the loft).

Here are the thoughts of a Sheffield FC fan, who called Radio Sheffields 'Praise or Grumble' phone in on Saturday evening (about 46 minutes & 55 seconds in)

Next up we play Carlton at the Wezziecana next Saturday - see you there.
