After the Lord Mayors Show & all that

Not a game that will linger long in anyones memory, the highlights will last as long as a mayflies sneeze & fortunately for some there wasn't a referees assessor at the game.....

The Blues fielded the same 11 as last Saturday but we got the polar opposite in terms of display.

Take it away Ken.....

Jacob Hazel had an early chance scuffed off the line for the hosts. Haze was in the thick of it 10 minutes later, setting up Ousman Cham who’s shot was deflected wide & Hinsley blazed over from the resulting corner.

Tyler Walton won a free kick on 22 minutes, Jamie McGuire took it and Jameel Ible powered his header into the bottom corner from 8 yards to put Frickley one up.

The next twenty minutes or so were an attritional mix of free kicks, yellow cards and half chances, so 1-0 it was at the turnaround.

The second period started in feisty fashion with the double dismissal of Frickley’s McGuire and Taddy’s Joe Lumsden.

Taddy were level on the hour against the run of play. Aiden Savory’s first shot was blocked but a fortunate rebound gave him a second chance which he tucked away. The visitors got their noses in front with 72nd minute flick past Frickley’s keeper, Sam Wilson, by Casey Stewart.

Michael Ingram had to claw away an Ible shot to keep it that way with 10 minutes to go and a second goal by Stewart made sure.

207 through the gate - thank you for your support everyone

WEBMASTER MOTM - most of the team turned in an OK performance. Karl Byrne put in any number of strong runs again, Jammer was on point scoring one & it would have been 2 but for some last gasp defending by Taddy & Tyler was always busy. But I'm giving the Glitterball to Sam Liversidge - he was working well in tandem with The Fire right up to Jamies red card & then he stepped up to the plate to try to martial his midfield.

TWITTER POLL MOTM - Twitter reflected the above too - Karl Byrne won the Twitter Poll just ahead of Jammer, with Sam Liversidge just behind & then Tyler just behind Sam. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to vote.
