During the Pandemic the ECB and National Disability Leagues have added an additional classification for cricket. Traditionally the Physical and Learning Impairment players have formed County squads for the National Competitions. With the addition of players with an Hearing Impairment we were presented with a new challenge, how to get the players into a squad and improve our communication, along with adding extra face time.
Yorkshire is a big County and it can be challenging to get the squads together for training in the winter months. The players met and determined locally based sessions, in addition to sessions at Headingley and Stumps, would benefit the players.
Cuckney Cricket Club has long established links with Disability Cricket, with some of the squad being active club members or coaches. Yorkshire Disability Cricket will be holding a series of training sessions at the club and thank them for their support with facilities and coaching.
